Bodies

Bodies is a collection of works in transition. Body (inner) and Body (outer) are interconnected. Parenthetic, one is a rectangular cut from the centre of a wheel thrown plate, the other is the outer edges rejoined. Each holds a torn block of transparent soap.

Developed from Song Dynasty recipes, the bone ash glazes that pool and crackle deeply, become a layer in transition with flesh-like transparent soap. Torn, almost already dissolving, the forms move - almost transubstantiating - from earth to light.
