Becoming

In Becoming the shutter of a camera operates in place of a kiln in the ceramicist's process: holding moments of interaction between liquid clay and the ceramicist's body in permanence. The series of photographic images, holds a body and a material in moments of change, transition and resistance. In the series, liquid porcelain pools and cracks across a back, undulating shoulders seem to become smooth, cut clay and hair tangles as the material dries into dust.
