Trained in the first cohort of students at Curious School of Puppetry  and with experience working with Handspring Puppet Company in Cape Town, Paines Plough and Frantic Assembly,  Freddie is a director, writer, musician and performer. He works as Assistant Director at Theatre Royal Plymouth and within music and performance collective Diniwe and the Hadedas. Recent work includes In Our Bones (Vault Festival, 2020 in collaboration with Alice Hartley, Finn Boxer, Jeroen Wuyts and Armed with Bow), an explosion of Don Paterson's poem Sunset, Visingsö , uttering a cry of hope in ecological crisis, was made originally for The Lyric and Performance seminar series at the University of Cambridge Faculty of English (Visingsö, 2018) and restaged at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth (The Unattended Moment, 2019 in collaboration with The Imperfect Orchestra and Frances Staniforth). The Hapless Child, a songcycle for puppets was made for MAPU Festival, Piazzola, Italy (2017) and performed in the UK.

Freddie was Assistant Director at Theatre Royal Plymouth between 2018 and 2020. Assistant Directing credits include: God of Chaos by Phil Porter, Theatre Royal Plymouth, dir. David Mercatali (2019), You Stupid Darkness! by Sam Steiner, Paines Plough, dir. James Grieve (2019), The Kneebone Cadillac by Carl Grose, Theatre Royal Plymouth,  dir. Simon Stokes (2018), Quiz by James Graham, dir. Daniel Evans (2017)

Also puppet commission from Red Rose Chain, Ipswich for their youth theatre production Black Shuck (2017) and Zoo Co's touring productions Giant (2016) and The Girl Who Fell in Love with the Moon (2015).

Freddie worked in Chichester Festival Theatre's Learning, Education and Participation on Heritage Projects and Youth Theatre Productions. Also in an archival capacity at CASS Sculpture Foundation.

Other puppetry and theatre credits include work with The Footlights, The Marlowe Society, The Cambridge Greek Play and outdoor productions in Clare College Gardens.
